I have 5 blogspot blogs. Had them for about 3 years now and I make about $150 a week off of them. I also have 2 blogs that I pay hosting for and those make me about $600 - $1K a month each. Funny thing is that most of them are only PR2 or less but I have lots visitors and regular readers. You actually don't need PageRank to make money with your blog. PagePank is only required if you are selling links through companies like Smorty.

If you want agood PR then in my experience paid reviews is not going to help you, you need to be really good to balance paid reviews with no paid review posts.

Lots of backlinks, swap links with other blogs and also comment on as many blogs as you cna find.No spam comments though.

yeah, definitely backlink building is the only way to gain high PR: submit to do follow blog directory, comment on as many blogs as you can, link exchange with other related blogs

Also, try writing unique content on your blog, which attracts traffic. If more and more people get to know about your blog, and if it has unique and interesting content, it is very much obvious that they will link to your blog....which makes your blog popular and get several back links too....
